Why can’t home schooling be a good idea for your teens?
Many parents are afraid to send their teenagers to high school. What if their teens can’t keep up with the changing environment? Such thoughts come to their minds, which makes them feel foolish. At the moment, they only want to consider one safe option – home schooling. Many parents think that they can teach their children only because they have gone to school. However, this is not true. Just because you’ve seen a doctor, you don’t know how to operate. Therefore, only in a traditional school can teaching be done in a good and systematic way. Let’s take a look at some of the important reasons why home schooling is not a good idea for your teen.

Insulation
Adolescents studying at home can be isolated, especially if they have no relatives at home. They may lose friendships at school that can help them get to know and share each other’s ideas. They may not get as much exposure as a traditional school would. Most of the time, teens rely heavily on their parents for everything.
Home schooling may or may not lead young people to limited social interaction. When teens go to home school, they don’t have any friends to talk to, share their stories with, or hang out with them from time to time. They are confined within the confines of their home and do not engage in social activities, and are therefore isolated. In a traditional school, young people can meet other students their age who come from different cultural backgrounds. Participating in extracurricular activities increases their confidence level and improves their mutual skills. Home schooling hinders their social, emotional and psychological development.
There is no such thing as a good decision maker.
Traditional schools usually conduct periodic tests to prepare students for the next level. However, no such procedure is used in home education. Adolescents attending home school only need to take an annual assessment test before moving on to the next level. This causes a lot of stress, as they have to prepare for their annual exams together.
No competition.
Adolescents have ample opportunity to compete with other students in traditional school. However, there is no such competition in home schooling. Traditional schooling creates a competitive spirit in students who are absent from home schooling. If young people are not educated about healthy competition, they will never know where they stand among their peers. This will be a problem for them in the future if they are to pursue their careers.
